Pittsburgh Manifold

Pittsburgh's independent news collective

About Us

Pittsburgh Manifold is a collective of award-winning independent journalists who work together to produce rigorous original reporting in the public interest.

We aspire to become Pittsburgh’s news and culture vanguard.

We cover Pittsburgh’s flourishing music and arts scenes.

We are based in Pittsburgh’s Allentown neighborhood.

We are proud members of Tiny News Collective and New Sun Rising.

Values

We adhere to the cardinal principles of journalism laid out by Joseph Pulitzer on the occasion of his retirement, April 10, 1907.

  • always fight for progress and reform,
  • never tolerate injustice or corruption,
  • always fight demagogues of all parties,
  • never belong to any party,
  • always oppose privileged classes and public plunderers,
  • never lack sympathy with the poor,
  • always remain devoted to the public welfare,
  • never be satisfied with merely printing news,
  • always be drastically independent,
  • never be afraid to attack wrong, whether by predatory plutocracy or predatory poverty.
